NearDA is a modular DA layer built on the NEAR Protocol, which is known for its affordability and fast finality. The NEAR Protocol provides a comprehensive solution encompassing execution, settlement, data availability, and consensus. NearDA takes the data availability and consensus components of NEAR Protocol and modularizes them, making them accessible to rollups and any other protocols that require reliable data availability.
However, the evolving ecosystem, increasingly focused on rollup-centric solutions, faces challenges such as state and liquidity fragmentation and extended finality times. To address these challenges, Nuffle Labs has developed the Nuffle Fast Finality Layer (NFFL), formerly known as SFFL. The NFFL is designed to provide faster block finality by leveraging the economic security of an EigenLayer AVS, while also incorporating an additional public DA layer into the stack.
Through the NFFL, various chains can supply block data to NearDA and benefit from accelerated block finality.
